Privacy Policy

ParrotPal Ltd. ("us", "we", or "our") operates the ParrotPal mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the App. Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect and process the following information about you:
a. Personal Information: When you register for an account or subscribe to our services, we may collect personal information such as your name, email address, and payment information.
b. Health and Nutritional Information: To provide you with accurate nutrition and muscle-protection tracking, we may collect health-related information that you provide to us, such as your weight, height, age, gender, dietary preferences, and exercise routines.
c. Usage Data: We collect information about your interactions with the App, such as the features you use, the pages you visit, and the actions you take. This may include your device's Internet Protocol (IP) address, browser type, browser version, and the time and date of your visit.
d. Device Information: We may collect information about the device you use to access the App, including the hardware model, operating system, and unique device identifiers.
e. Location Data: We may request access to and track location-based information from your mobile device while you are using the App to provide location-based services. If you wish to change our access or permissions, you may do so in your device’s settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect in the following ways:
a. To Provide and Improve Our Services: We use your information to operate, maintain, and improve the App, including personalizing your experience and providing customer support.
b. To Process Payments: We work with Apple to process your payments. Whilst we can see some basic information about payments (such as your name and email if you allow it) we have no further information than this. Your payments go through Apple's in-app purchases and your card details are stored with Apple and not us. We have no insight into your payment methods, and we cannot cancel or manage your payments for you. This is all secured & handled by Apple, and you must manage your payments via the App Store App. Apple send you emails with this information.
c. To Communicate with You: We may use your contact information to send you updates, newsletters, marketing communications, and other information related to the App. You can opt out of receiving marketing emails at any time by following the unsubscribe instructions provided in the email.
d. To Analyze Usage: We may analyze usage data to understand how users interact with the App and to develop new features and improve existing ones.
e. To Comply with Legal Obligations: We may use your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal processes.
3. Sharing Your Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to others. We may share your information with third parties in the following situations:
a. Service Providers: We may share your information with third-party service providers who perform services on our behalf, such as payment processing, data analysis, and customer support. These service providers are required to protect your information and only use it for the purposes for which we disclose it to them.
b. Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court or a government agency).
c. Business Transfers: If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
4. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your information.
5. Your Rights and Choices
You have the following rights regarding your information:
a. Access and Update: You may access and update your personal information by logging into your account settings within the App.
b. Opt-Out: You can opt out of receiving marketing communications from us by following the unsubscribe instructions included in our emails.
c. Data Deletion: You may request the deletion of your account and personal information by contacting us at support@parrotpal.com. Please note that we may retain certain information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes.
d. Do Not Track: Upon opening the app we will ask you if you would allow us to track your app usage. You can decline here or allow and edit in your Apple settings.
6. Children’s Privacy
The App is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information from our records.
7. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to the United Kingdom and any other country in which we or our service providers operate.
8. The Free LeanShield Assessment on Our Website
This section covers the free LeanShield assessment at parrotpal.com/leanshield-score.
a. What we collect: your answers, including health information such as whether you take a GLP-1 medicine, your age, sex, height and weight, how fast you are losing weight, what you eat and how you exercise; the score we work out from them; and how you found the page (for example, the name of the advert or website that linked to it). We do not collect your name, IP address or advertising identifiers with your answers.
b. If you don't give us your email: we keep your answers without your email or anything else that identifies you, and use them to improve LeanShield and to understand, across everyone, how people protect their muscle.
c. If you ask for your report: we only store your email with your answers if you give your explicit consent by ticking the box on the page. We use them to email you your report and Dr Richie Kirwan's recorded seminars. Our legal basis is your consent (UK GDPR Articles 6(1)(a) and 9(2)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time. We only send you tips and offers if you also tick the separate marketing box, and every email has an unsubscribe link.
d. Advertising: we never send your answers or your score to advertising platforms such as Meta or TikTok. At most, they are told that someone started or finished the assessment.
e. Where it is kept: our database is hosted by Supabase in the European Union (Ireland). Emails are sent through Amazon Web Services' email service in the United States, under AWS's data protection terms for international transfers.
f. How long we keep it: we keep assessment answers for up to 2 years, then delete them or keep only anonymous totals. If you gave us your email, we delete it and the answers linked to it when you withdraw your consent or ask us to, or at the latest 2 years after we last heard from you.
g. Your rights: you can withdraw your consent, ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@parrotpal.com. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
h. Not medical advice: the assessment gives an estimate from your answers. It is not a medical assessment.
9. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will notify you by posting the updated policy within the App and updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
