KitKat is the most-logged chocolate bar in UK food diaries
Key findings
KitKat was logged by 9.2% of UK ParrotPal members between February and August 2026, more than any other named chocolate. Cadbury Dairy Milk (8.6%), Lindt (8.1%) and Maltesers (6.1%) follow.
53.6% of members logged chocolate of some kind. Of the named bars and brands, KitKat came top (9.2%).

Most-logged named chocolate
Share of membersSeasonal chocolate punched above its weight: Mini Eggs (6.0%) and Creme Eggs (5.9%) reached nearly as many members as Galaxy (5.7%) in only a few months on sale.
Dark chocolate was logged by 16.7% of members, more than any single bar, but it’s a type rather than a brand, so it isn’t in the bar league. Plenty of members simply logged “chocolate”.
Names are grouped as members logged them: KitKat includes Chunky and 4-finger; Cadbury Dairy Milk is the bar, while other Cadbury products are counted separately.
What this means
The chocolate Britain writes down is a snack-sized bar: KitKat and Dairy Milk lead, with Easter favourites close behind.

Method in brief. UK ParrotPal members’ anonymised food diaries, 1 February to 31 August 2026 (members whose app is set to UK time; internal accounts and deleted entries left out). A share is the share of members in the group who logged the item at least once, so it counts people, not entries. Named chocolate is matched on the product or brand logged; generic “chocolate” and dark chocolate are left out of the bar league.
Aggregates only: every group shown has 50 or more members and no share rests on fewer than 10. Patterns in what members logged, not causes. who’s counted · the 50/10 rule · logged isn’t eaten · how foods are named and counted.
