Key findings

Most-logged foods
Share of membersEggs held the top spot at breakfast too (53.8% of members who logged breakfast). At dinner the most-logged food was bread and toast (50.8%).
Greek yoghurt (43.8%) out-ranked every other yoghurt, and protein shakes and powders reached 39.3% of members. Members log by voice, text, photo or barcode, so we grouped spellings and variations (“banana”, “bananas”, “1 medium banana”) into one food.
These are patterns in what members chose to log, which isn’t always everything they ate. App members aren’t a random sample of the UK.
What this means

Method in brief. UK ParrotPal members’ anonymised food diaries, 1 February to 31 August 2026 (members whose app is set to UK time; internal accounts and deleted entries left out). A share is the share of members in the group who logged the item at least once, so it counts people, not entries. Spellings and variations are grouped into food types; every food shown was logged by 50 or more members.
Aggregates only: every group shown has 50 or more members and no share rests on fewer than 10. Patterns in what members logged, not causes. who’s counted · the 50/10 rule · logged isn’t eaten · how foods are named and counted.
