Whose biggest day is which
Share of membersFor each member with full days logged on every day of the week, we found the day with their highest typical total. Friday, Saturday or Sunday came top for 64% of them. Each of Monday to Thursday came top for only about 1 in 10.
Sunday was the second-biggest day for the most members (19%), then Friday (16%). Monday was the biggest day for just 9%.
This shows when members logged the most, not why. Logging isn’t always the same as eating, and app members aren’t a random sample of the UK.
What this means
If your tracking slips, it’s most likely to slip at the weekend, and Saturday in particular. Planning one Saturday meal ahead is a small, practical step.
What the research says
In a year-long US trial, adults gained weight over weekends, with more eaten on Saturdays; people cutting calories stopped losing weight at weekends.

In US national survey data (2003–2012), Saturday was the least healthy day of the week, with more calories than on weekdays.

Method in brief. UK ParrotPal members’ anonymised food diaries, 1 February to 31 August 2026. Each member is compared with their own typical Monday-to-Thursday day; a counted day has 3 or more entries and 800 to 6,000 kcal, and deleted entries don’t count. Members needed at least 2 counted days on all seven days of the week (over 2,000 UK members).
Aggregates only: every group shown has 50 or more members and no share rests on fewer than 10. Patterns in what members logged, not causes. who’s counted · the 50/10 rule · logged isn’t eaten.
