The roast leads, then drinks: black pudding (47.0%), gravy (44.0%), cider (41.3%) and lamb (40.7%) all lean to the weekend.

At the other end, the working week has its own foods: satsumas and clementines (15.2% weekend), couscous and quinoa (15.4%), tuna (15.9%) and pasta (15.8%), the packed-lunch and meal-prep foods.

Members log a little less at weekends, so weekend shares are, if anything, an undercount.

What this means

Weekday diaries are meal prep; weekend diaries are the Sunday roast and a drink.

Method in brief. UK ParrotPal members’ anonymised food diaries, 1 February to 31 August 2026 (members whose app is set to UK time; internal accounts and deleted entries left out). A share is the share of members in the group who logged the item at least once, so it counts people, not entries. Weekend share = the share of all days a member logged the food that fell on a Saturday or Sunday. Foods logged by 50+ members on a weekend day and on each weekday.

Aggregates only: every group shown has 50 or more members and no share rests on fewer than 10. Patterns in what members logged, not causes. who’s counted · the 50/10 rule · logged isn’t eaten · how foods are named and counted.
